MANCHESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I’m Janette — a wedding photographer based in Manchester, drawn to movement, emotion and the moments in between.

I photograph weddings across Manchester & Greater Manchester, working in a documentary way with an editorial eye. My focus is on how the day feels rather than how it’s staged — observing quietly and letting things unfold naturally.

Wedding photography in & around Manchester

Manchester and the surrounding areas offer a unique mix of city spaces, industrial venues, countryside locations and historic buildings. Photographing weddings in this region means working with variety — different light, different rhythms, different kinds of energy.

Working documentary — first allows me to respond to each place and each couple individually, rather than imposing a formula. Whether it’s a city ceremony, a relaxed registry office wedding or a larger celebration just outside Manchester, my focus stays the same: presence, movement and real moments as they happen.

For couples planning a wedding in Manchester & Greater Manchester

This approach works especially well for couples who care more about how the day felt than how it looked on cue…

If you want calm guidance, space to breathe, and photographs that feel HONEST — you’ll feel at home here.

A relaxed, documentary approach to wedding photography

I work quietly and intuitively, blending into the background rather than directing events. This gives space for real moments to unfold — movement, emotion, connection and the in-between parts that often matter the most.

My role isn’t to control the day, but to observe it closely and respond as it happens, creating images that feel honest, unforced and true to the experience.

We couldn’t have asked for better photographers to capture such an important day in our lives. Janette and her partner were an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. From the moment they arrived, they brought the perfect mix of professionalism, creativity, and warmth. They made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, and it truly shows in the photos every shot is natural, emotional, and beautifully captured.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. While Manchester is my base, I photograph weddings across Greater Manchester, the North West and beyond. Many of the weddings I photograph take place just outside the city, as well as elsewhere in the UK when the day calls for it.

  • My approach is documentary at heart, with an editorial eye. I focus on real moments, movement and emotion rather than staged poses. I guide gently when needed, but most of the day unfolds naturally — allowing you to stay present rather than perform for the camera.

  • I don’t treat weddings like a photoshoot or a checklist to complete. I focus on how the day feels — the movement, emotion and quiet moments in between — allowing everything to unfold naturally rather than be directed.

For full-day coverage, I work alongside my partner, which means having a second photographer as part of the experience — without additional cost. Working together allows us to move intuitively, stay present and document the day calmly, without disrupting its natural flow.

  • Not at all. Most couples tell me this at first. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do — that’s not what I’m looking for. I create a relaxed, calm environment where you can simply be yourselves, and the moments follow naturally.

  • The final number of images varies depending on the coverage and pace of your day. I focus on quality and storytelling rather than a fixed image count, delivering a carefully curated gallery that reflects the full story of your wedding.

  • Your full wedding gallery is delivered within 8–10 weeks.
You’ll also receive a preview gallery within 5 days of your wedding, so you have something to enjoy and share shortly after the day.

  • To secure your date, a £250 booking fee is required.
The remaining balance is due three weeks before your wedding date. Once booked, I’ll guide you through the next steps and be available to answer any questions along the way.

  • Absolutely. Every wedding is different, and coverage can be tailored depending on your plans, locations and priorities. If you’re unsure what you need, I’m always happy to talk it through.

  • Yes. I photograph intimate weddings and elopements where the focus is on connection, atmosphere and meaningful moments — whether in the city or further afield.
